Title V of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act requires all financial and insurance institutions to have processes in place to protect the confidentiality of your personal information. In accordance with these laws, Oakbridge Insurance Agency will provide customers with a copy of our Privacy Statement annually.

Notice to California Residents – California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), may provide you with additional rights regarding certain personal information we collect. This section applies to personal information collected outside of insurance transactions (such as website visitor data, marketing contacts, and employment-related information), which is not otherwise governed by the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) or the California Insurance Code.

Your Rights Under the CCPA:

  • Right to Know: You have the right to request that we disclose what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell about you.
  • Right to Delete: You have the right to request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Right to Correct: You have the right to request correction of inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
  • Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing: We do not sell your personal information. However, if we ever share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, you have the right to opt out.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.

Notice at Collection – Website Visitors:

When you visit our website, we may collect personal information such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and other usage data through cookies and similar technologies. This information is used for website analytics and improving user experience. You may opt out of certain data collection by adjusting your browser settings or by submitting a request as described below.

Source of Information

We collect nonpublic personal information about you from sources such as:

  • Applications or forms that you complete;
  • Applications or forms that you authorize others to complete for you (e.g., physicians who may provide medical information for health, disability or life insurance);
  • Consumer or reporting agencies, medical and health care providers, motor vehicle administration offices, or governmental agencies;
  • Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, and others; and
  • Information we collect when you visit our website, including through cookies and similar tracking technologies.

 

Type of Information

We use the nonpublic personal information obtained for business purposes only, including but not limited to evaluating your application for insurance, processing your claims, complying with your service requests, and processing your transactions. We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our customers or former customers to anyone, except as permitted by law. This may include:

  • Personal information, including name, address, telephone number, social security number, date of birth, etc.
  • Financial information covered by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, such as types of insurance carried, premiums paid, credit history, income, and assets
  • Health information, including information about your medical history, health, and general insurance underwriting risk factors
  • Driving information, including traffic tickets, accidents, and claims

 

Use of Information

As allowed by law, we may provide information to the following:

  • Insurance companies that provide the product you have applied for or purchased, for the purpose of underwriting, processing claims, and the overall servicing of your policy
  • Administrators or other third party entities that may provide service for the product you have applied for or purchased
  • Anyone to whom you have authorized us to disclose the information

 

Consent and Opt-Out Rights

For data governed by GLBA (the majority of client data), consent and opt-out rights are managed through our GLBA-compliant privacy notices provided at or before the time of data collection. Clients may opt out of certain data sharing in accordance with GLBA requirements.

Oakbridge does not sell your personal information to third parties. For non-transactional data (e.g., website visitors and marketing contacts), you may opt out of data sharing at any time by contacting us using the information provided in this notice.

California residents may additionally exercise CCPA opt-out rights as described in the California Consumer Privacy Act section above.

 

Security of Information

  • We do not provide nonpublic information to any individual or entity other than those listed above
  • We do not sell your information to any entity
  • We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees who need to know the information so that they may provide the service and support necessary to administer your account
  • We maintain physical and procedural safeguards that comply with regulatory standards to protect your nonpublic personal information
  • We encrypt all outgoing e-mail containing personal, identifiable information
  • We require all employees to adhere to Oakbridge’s Confidentiality and Privacy policies

 

Do Not Call (DNC) Compliance

Oakbridge Insurance Agency complies with applicable Do Not Call regulations, including the Federal Trade Commission’s National DNC Registry and applicable state-specific DNC requirements. Our compliance process includes:

  • Scrubbing prospect and outreach lists against the National DNC Registry prior to outbound calling campaigns
  • Maintaining an internal DNC list for individuals who have requested removal from our contact lists
  • Training sales and account management staff on DNC obligations
  • Honoring DNC requests within the legally required timeframe (no later than 30 days from the date of the request)

 

Reservation of the Right to Disclose Information in Unforeseen Circumstances

In connection with the potential sale or transfer of its interests, Oakbridge reserves the right to sell or transfer your information to a third-party entity that (1) concentrates its business in a similar practice or service; (2) agrees to be Oakbridge’s successor in interests with regard to the maintenance and protection of the information collected; and (3) agrees to the obligations of this privacy statement. Any such transfer will be conducted in compliance with applicable privacy laws, including GLBA and, where applicable, the CCPA. Affected customers will be notified of any material change in the handling of their personal information prior to such transfer.
