Jimmy Mayo is not one to seek the spotlight. For his 20-plus years in the insurance business, he’s kept his head down and done the hard work of protecting his clients’ interests. His self-described “passion for getting things right” has led him from being a sole agent exclusively representing one carrier’s products to being head of one of Georgia’s top-producing independent insurance agencies.

And now, Oakbridge Insurance’s newest strategic partner. For Mayo and Marietta Insurance Services (MIS), the alignment is a logical step in a journey guided by putting his clients’ coverage needs first.

This commitment to service has created opportunity along the way. Currently CEO of Marietta, Mayo has remained focused on the basics of serving the communities where he lives and works. MIS’ loyal team of insurance industry veterans averages more than 20 years in the business and 12 years at the agency. The company writes a wide variety of coverage for individuals and businesses with particular strength in personal, construction, habitation and general commercial lines.

Cautiously seeking growth, he recently set about looking for partners. “I was looking for a small agency outside our footprint to acquire. I wasn’t having any luck finding folks that shared our commitment to community or our dedication to doing things right. I was about to shelve the idea when I was introduced to Oakbridge.”

In Oakbridge, Mayo found kindred spirits. “Talking to them was like hanging out with old friends. There was nothing pretentious or showy about their leadership. They were very transparent about their motives, which it turns out, were exactly the same as mine: find like-minded partners with whom you could grow the business. You could say ‘the script got flipped,’ but in the best way possible.”

The partnership with Oakbridge will allow Marietta to continue to focus on providing the highest value coverage for its clients as well as superior, people-first customer care. “Our clients will gain several advantages through this relationship,” Mayo explained, “including better back-office support, more coverage options, more high-value policies and they’ll benefit from our expanded relationship with more carriers.”

For Oakbridge, Marietta’s footprint in Northern Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee and Alabama allows it to continue to expand its reach and reinforces its commitment to communities. Oakbridge, a Top 100 Independent insurance agency, offers a wide range of risk management and insurance services for individuals, municipalities and businesses in cities and towns across the Southeast.

We’re Oakbridge, deeply rooted in service.
