Matt James

Matt, an accomplished strategic finance leader, is responsible for Oakbridge’s financial, legal, and M&A functions. As chief financial officer and chief acquisitions officer, he creates sustainable shareholder value by enabling organic growth, accelerating expansion through M&A and scaling efficiently by providing partners with exceptional administrative support.

Prior to joining Oakbridge, Matt was a core member of the executive team at a private equity-backed insurance distribution business where he led M&A and corporate finance. His experience also includes roles at a middle-market private equity fund focused on growth investments in service businesses and a boutique investment bank specializing in entrepreneur-owned recapitalizations.

Matt has a bachelor’s degree in history and master’s degree in management from Wake Forest University. He earned his MBA from the Yale School of Management.
