“After the Storms: Regrowing and Protecting Georgia’s Cash Crops,” Atlanta Journal-Constitution
In an article published in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on November 20, 2024, Sam Sports and Will Wilson discuss the catastrophic damage from Hurricane Helene and Milton to two of the largest industries in Georgia: agriculture and timber.
“The Georgia Farm Bureau estimates the damage from Helene to the state’s timber and agriculture industries to be at least $6.4 billion,” says Sam and Will. “An increase in catastrophic storm damage from hurricanes like Helene and Milton complicates matters and has a ripple effect not just in this state, but across the nation.”
Sam and Will offer further advice on how to protect against similar damage in the future.
